By completing the booking process, you are confirming acknowledgment & acceptance of the terms outlined below, and on the rest of the site.

Privacy

The collection and storage of personal information submitted to The Upholstery Cleaning Co. (“UCC”) is governed by the NZ Privacy Act 2020. This means your details will not be divulged to third parties and we will not send you promotional information, by email or post, unless you agree to it. Under the Data Protection Act, you retain the right to access and modify any data about you held by UCC. When you register your name or email address you agree to be governed by UCC’s terms and conditions.

2. Registration

You may need to register to be able to access some services on the UCC website (our “site”). When you register your details online, you are required to make sure that this information is accurate, current and a true representation of your personal details. You are also responsible for maintaining your personal information via your online account as well as for keeping your password secret.

The Terms of Service together with all our policies and procedures will be governed by and construed in accordance to the relevant NZ law and the relevant courts will have exclusive jurisdiction.

3. Booking

If booking a service via the website or social media, during the booking process, you will be requested to provide personal details.

As part of an online transaction, we may perform a fraud credit check via our payment provider.  By submitting a payment through the site, you are granting permission for us to carry out such checks as required.

Bookings on the site are subject to the required slot availability. During the booking process, the service and slot chosen on the site will not be reserved for you until the booking is complete, and are available for booking to other customers browsing the site at the same time.

When you have finalised your booking via the site, the slot and service will be reserved for you.

Service availability is determined by your address, subject to Technician availability in your locale.

We are generally unable to offer customers services outside of our main service area, however if you live in Cromwell, Alex or Wanaka please contact us :)

4. Pricing

Prices are set out in New Zealand Dollars (NZD). All standard pricing is shown inclusive of taxes.

5. Disclaimer

Results from our upholstery cleaning services may vary depending on the age, condition, and type of fabric of the furniture being treated. While we strive to achieve the best possible outcomes for all our clients, factors such as deeply set stains, wear and tear, or previous treatments may impact the final result. We guarantee professional and diligent service, using industry-standard techniques and equipment to revitalise your upholstery.

Our team at The Upholstery Cleaning Co. in Queenstown, New Zealand, is dedicated to ensuring customer satisfaction, though specific results cannot be guaranteed due to the aforementioned variables.

Post-clean

Please note that some upholstery fabrics may experience a change in colour and/or texture after cleaning. Additionally, any unknown pre-treatments applied to the upholstery prior to our service may affect the final cleaning results. As part of our process we check the care label (if present), however some information may not be included that could affect the outcome on rare occasions.

We advise our clients to be aware of these possibilities before proceeding with our cleaning services.

Results can vary due to a large number of factors, UCC accepts no liability for variances in results due to factors outside of our control, including but not limited to: UV conditions, drying conditions, weather, fabric type & composition, water purity, soil level, previous cleaning/cleaning attempts & chemicals used.

6. Payment

We accept the following payment types via our online payment system:

  • Visa

  • Mastercard

  • Gift vouchers and e-vouchers

  • Apple Pay

  • Cash

  • Bank Transfer

By submitting electronic payment you are confirming that the credit/debit card is yours or that you have authority from the cardholder to make the payment. We reserve the right to refuse payments & orders for customers who are not 18 years of age or older.

Payments are processed securely via the payments system (Stripe), and all payment details will be encrypted.

We respectfully ask for payment within 7-days of the invoice (unless agreed prior).

Overdue payments

If your invoice is more than 14-days overdue from the date of the job, we may collect payment if card details are held on file.

7. Gift Vouchers

Gift vouchers and e-vouchers (“Vouchers”) cannot be bought using discount or promotional codes, and cannot be purchased with another Voucher.

Vouchers can be redeemed to purchase for UM products & services only.

Vouchers can be redeemed in part, with the remaining balance left on the Voucher Code.

Vouchers must be redeemed within twelve months of purchase and any unused balance will not be refunded or credited after such time.

Any balance credited from a part-redeemed Voucher must be used in the same currency as the first purchase it was redeemed with.

We are unable to replace vouchers if they are lost, stolen or damaged.

8. Re-do’s

Limitations to our services will have been explained during the technicians pre-inspection. However if you are not satisfied with your service, please let us know directly, within 48hrs of your service. This timescale allows the carpets/upholstery to dry properly.

If a part has been missed, or if the result is unsatisfactory, our tech’s may re-do the area at no extra charge.

After inspection, we do reserve the right to refuse a re-do if the result will not improve - for example, if a stain is unlikely to be removable, or if the area in question is classed as damaged (Water damage, UV damage, burn etc).

9. Intellectual property rights

Usage of the UCC website or social accounts/pages grants you no rights to any copyright or intellectual property rights relating to the content of the site. All copyright is protected under national and international law.

Any site content can only be reproduced or distributed with express permission from UCC.

10. Photography

UCC utilises ‘before and after’ photography on our website and social media in order to showcase our services and results.

By booking with us, we assume consent of photographs or videos being taken during the service.

No images or media will be used that may in any way show identification or persons or location details, unless with express permission of the subject.

UM reserves the right to use all other media for publicity or advertising purposes.

11. General

We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation, and we will always notify you in writing if this happens, but this will not affect your rights or our obligations under these terms. This arrangement is between you and UCC. No other person shall have any rights to enforce any of its terms.

12. Changes

Any changes we may make to these Terms & Conditions in the future will be posted on this page and, where appropriate, notified to you by email. Please check back frequently to see any updates or changes to these Terms & Conditions.

14. Governing law & jurisdiction

These Terms & Conditions are governed by New Zealand law and you and we agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the respective courts in respect of any matter arising hereunder.

15. Competitions

General

These terms and conditions apply to UCC competitions. By participating in the competition, participants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. This competition is governed by the laws of the country in which the competition is running.

15.1 Qualifying participants

  • Entrants are required to share their entry by liking, tagging and sharing on Instagram and Facebook.

  • Results may be used for publicity purposes.

  • Unless stated otherwise, the winner will be chosen by a committee at UCC.

15.2 Prizes

Prizes are non-transferable and there is no cash alternative. Prizes are subject to availability and confirmation. All other expenses not expressly stated or included in the prize are the responsibility of the winner(s).

UCC reserves the right to substitute a prize or any part of it of equal or greater value, if this is necessary for reasons beyond its control.

If no winner has claimed within two weeks from the closing date, after reasonable effort has been made by UCC to notify the chosen winner, the prize may be forfeited.

UCC reserves the right to alter, amend or foreclose this prize draw without prior notice in the event that unforeseen circumstances make this unavoidable.

UCC are the arbiters of the competition and reserve the right to alter, suspend, amend or foreclose the competition at any time without prior written notice and without any liability to any qualifying participant.

UCC will not be responsible for any delays, operational problems, inaccuracies or other acts of default.

UCC accepts no responsibility for any loss, damage, injury or disappointment suffered by any entrant resulting from entering this competition or by the entrant’s acceptance of the prize, or any damage to any entrant’s or other person’s computer or mobile phone equipment as a consequence of downloading any material relating to this Competition. 

Employees of UCC and their immediate family are not eligible for the prize.

16. Health Disclaimer

The products and methods we use are industry standard. All our products are industry standard rated and readily sold in NZ under under NZ EPA and Worksafe NZ regulations and policies.

It is possible that some chemicals used may exacerbate underlying medical or health conditions (for example; breathing difficulties). UCC accepts no responsibility or liability in this case.

All services are carried out at the request of the customer. It may be prudent to leave the immediate area that the service is being carried out.
